Any spoofs for FFVI that are actually funny?

I noticed the Awful Fantasy topic, and as is mentioned there, most of it isn't funny. SomethingAwful, like many other spoofers (?), simply put in a load of curse words and sexual jokes for their "humor."
So, I was wondering if anyone knows of one that's actually funny, without relying on sex and swears? A few is okay, but overdoing it is just that: overdoing it.
Thanks in advance; looking forward to a laugh from FFVI.

UPDATE: I appreciate the replies, and I hope that the name of the good one you played will come to mind, Silverlance. Did you get it from zophar? Because if so, perhaps you wouldn't mind skimming the names of their FFVI hacks HERE to see if any of them are familiar?

Other than Awful Fantasy (I thought the ending was actually the funniest - they finally got their icecream tongue.gif ) all the other spoofs I've played are along the same lines: They reuse the same jokes throughout and rely mainly on curse words and sexual humor with only maybe a handful of truly funny scenes/dialogue. After a while that "style" gets kinda old. I've been trying to find one that's consistently funny for ages now...

There are very few, if any, truly good spoofs. With editors out there allowing Mr. Anybody to make his hack without any effort, it's very likely that, well, very little effort will, indeed, go into the hack. The harder something is to pull off, the more effort someone'll put into it (for instance, if you had to edit text with a hex-editor, I'm sure nobody would waste their time making a hack where every instance of the word "Esper" is replaced by "Poop.")

I played a spoof that was pretty amusing, if a little crude, once. Turned out being the first one I saw, really, and I have to say it was pretty funny all in all (except for a few lame toilet jokes). Unfortunately, it's been ages. I have no clue what it was called.

Not so much FFVI, but check out the Final Fantasy Collection on newgrounds. The 8-bit DnD is hilarious (even if you've never played Dungeons and Dragons it is quite funny). There was this one called Final Fighting Fantasy, like a dozen episodes that this guy made. Not so much a spoof, but this guy make a nice storyline involving all FF characters from 4 to 9 (I believe) and Tactics.

Here is the link if you want to check it out for yourself:

the final fantasy spoof that *i* thought was really funny is the official FF3/6 Omnispoof (availible on zophar) I haven't played it in a while.... but i remember some pretty crude adult type humor and profanity.... but as i remember it had some REALLY good jokes

Ah, yes! That sounds like the one I had in mind.

Ah yes, I'm very familiar with newgrounds, and 8-bit Theater, and the Final Fighting Fantasy, all of which are brilliant! I'd recommend them to any gamer, but especially those who would call themselves FF freaks!

Great to see you here, Zechs. Too many of the patches available at zophar are done by gamers who are outta the scene now... sad.gif I've got Omnispoof, but I haven't yet played past Figaro castle. Like I said, I don't mind some crude humor (I love Southpark, for instance), but with Awful Fantasy, it went way over the line sometimes.

Funny, Carlos, but I'm hoping you're wrong. unsure.gif By the way, I've seen a few of your posts (what few there are so far - another new member like myself! thumbup.gif ), and here's my vote for YOU making an FFVI spoof. You got a chuckle (or at least a grin) outta me a few times, so I'd like to see your rendition of a funny FF. happy.gif

At the Flash Player site, there is a very well done Flash anime called "Final Fantasy A+". Its honestly the best flash movie I've yet seen; its cute, funny, and damn close to professional.

Thanks, sharkerbob, I'll be sure to check that out!
But specifically, I'm looking for funny rom hack spoofs...which seem to be a rarity, if they exist at all.....
