Im not sure if enemy skills are a "spoiler" so i will be treating this as such

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Ive fought 20 of the level 36 chocobos and 10 of the level 16's, casting level 4 suicide each time, but they will not respond with chocobuckle, i thought it was because i had yet to run away from a battle, so i ran away from a battle to see if that would fix the problem, but it still will not cast it.

I guess im asking if they cast it on a random basis? And if so, then it should be so noted in the walkthrough..

I believe you may need to feed them a Green first.

Try feeding it Mimett Greens first. I'll update the guide with that.

There might be slight variations, but here is how I did it:

I bought a bunch of Mimmett Greens from the Chocobo Farm and drove to Mideel Island. After encountering chocobos on the tracks (obviously), I would throw Mimmett Greens in succession (four..five) and after that, would use Lv. 4 Suicide.

Beforehand, I would come into battle with all four Enemy Skill materia on one person in the hopes that I could learn it all at once. If I had to assess your problem, I'd say you're forgetting the greens part.

Yes, that's true. If you really want it to be a powerhouse skill, fleeing is going to take up hours of time--the damage increments are very small (+1 each time, I believe).

Is that +1 for every battle you, as a party, run from....Or, is it for every battle you run from while equipped with chocobuckle?

It counts all times you've run away, before and after you've gotten the skill.

So in conclusion, Use Lv4 suicide on the chocobo (which is obtained from Muus and Trickplays around Bone Village) then it will use Chocobuckle on you. Every time you have run away in the game adds to the damage it does as an enemy skill...Meaning you have to run from a LOT of battles to make it a decent attack

It's kinda useless tho...like Vincents ultimate weapon, he needs to kill like a whole load of enemies before it does 9999 damage

i've actually tried what everyone has suggested. ive used all types of greens all types of chocobos with lv4 suicide and it does nothing. i even bought a strategy guide(official) and it says nothing about chocobuckle. im so confused.

form what i understand, i believe you might *have* to use the mimett green. i ahve tested with the other greens and i get runaway chocobos when i use l4 suicide....but whenever i use a mimett (just a single one, don't waste your time and money with 4 or 5), then follow up with l4, the chocobo always retaliates on the caster with chocobuckle.

It's not every chocobo in a single area that will be lvl16 if I remember well to use L4 Suicide on it in rder to get chocobuckle.

Chocobos in a given random level will have a given level. Just use sense on it if you are in the proper battle.

If I remember well, giving the chocobo a Mimett green is a must or it will just run away.

The maximum amount of times you will run away from a battle will be 65535... but who cares max damage is 9999 anyways.

As for Vincent's Death Penalty, I've never been able to increase it's damage. I wrote down the damage, with it's variation with a totally normal attack, and after counting 200 enemies defeated, even by using the gun with Vincent, The damage amount was exactly the same. I'm not the only one that this happened.

I got my chocobuckle @ the tracks by mideel because the chocobos there seem to be more likely to be n multiple of level 4 or the lvl 4 suicide
Bah I love my chocobos, I feed them sylkis greens smile.gif Then I suicide them and I use the skill for hte whopping 18 damage!
I dunno if this is related, but does the magic "exit" count toward the number of escapes to power up chocobuckle?

Ok, there seems to be come sort of confusiong about the E.Skill 'chocobuckle' so i've decided to clear this all up:
To learn it i've always gone to the grassland area outside the chocobo farm with some mimett (close enough to the correct spelling, you all know what im talking bout) greens, then fought with chocbo lure materia and of course, E.Skill materia that has L4 Suicide on it. When in battle you have to be against a chocobo with 2 Levikrons (the ostrich lookin' things) or 2 elphadunks, these are the 2 chocobos that L4 suicide will affect (lvl 16)
then in battle with a lvl 16 or 32 or whatever (as long as its lvl is a multiple of 4) chocobo, you must feed in mimett greens, then use L4 suicide it'll use chocobuckle. THE REASON L4 SUICIDE MAKES IT USE CHOCOBUCKLE is because the chocobo is in 'critical' so if you dont have L4 suicide you can just get it to very low health. Hope it helps everyone who didnt know exactly how to get it. Once you have it, chocobuckle does 1hp for each time you have run. Running 9999 times is a bit of a waste of time, so i chose to make chocobuckle do 2222 damage, this makes getting lucky 7's easy. An easy way to build up your escapes is to put sneak attack materias linked to 'exit' materias, this will automatically use it at the start of a battle. HP <-> MP helps too. So Howie and Malshun, it does count. [wow this is a long post!]

I've never heard of anyone learning Chocobuckle except at the Mideel continent chocobo tracks.

not sure if you're trying to say it can't be learned elsewhere, but it can be gotten from any chocobo at a lv multiple of 4 -- and the chocos at the ranch are a perfect example. there is, iirc, only one choco that appears there (in a formation with two elfadunks, i think) that is not a multiple of 4 (14, i think). so chocobuckle can feasibly and easily be the third enemy skill star collected.

Actually, only a choco with 2 elphadunks or a choco with 2 levikrons IS a lvl 16 choco.

Thanks for clearing that up man
I think most people use the ones by mideel is because I think they come @ lvl...36? Yeah, but I also head that hte one by the chocobo farm is pretty popular because at that same place you can get the lvl 4 suicide

yep i always get chocobuckle from outside the chocobo farm cos its usually just after i get L4 suicide. can be a right pain in the arse sometimes though, as they run away before you can throw em a green in some situations.

Ive never got it from mideel ive always got it by the choco farm because i just by the greens there anyway (why fly all the way to mideel) I think igot the damage up to around 2500 right now, it sucks that run away stuff takes hours and hours. It really gets boring after awhile.

I was foolish and used ??? on one outside of the Chocobo Ranch when one of my characters had exactly 125 HP missing. Foolish, perhaps, but successful. Successful like a fox!
