On the subject of the Cursed and Paladin Shield, I just thought of something. Wouldn't the best place to uncurse the sheild be on the island were Celes starts in WOR? The battles are extremely easy, and all the enemies can be killed in one hit. Has anyone tried that?

That's actually one of the most recommended areas for doing so, if my memory serves me correctly. Just make sure Gogo isn't the one using it.

Another neat trick is to take Locke with you, and fight only on the little desert. When you fight the Earthguard, cast stop on him, and then Locke can steal Megalixers *usually takes a few tries*. So by the time you get the Paladin shield you have a whole lot of Megalixers-it's the only way to get em en masse.

It's good and bad:

GOOD:
Faster battles and you can steal alot of elixirs and megalixirs (by chance)

BAD:
Exp and these guys die fast.

But yeah, fighting on Cid's island is a faster way to get the best shield.

I usually uncurse the shield on the Desert near Maranda, or in the Veldt. Of course Solitary Island is probably the fastest place, but if you have to do 256 battles, I think its best to save money ( in the Desert...killing Cactrots and Hoovers ,I have +5000000 GP ,btw) or getting Rages on the process ( though it could be dangerous ).

I just equip it to Shadow, give him a ribbon and a memento ring and keep him in the party forever until it's uncursed. I don't have time to waste on doing it as an aside to my game. tongue.gif I just let it go through the flow of the game as I play it.

Alternatively I give it to Terra and give her the Minerva armor and a ribbon.

I agree with Shinryu, one of the best ways to uncurse that shield is to merely continue with the game as you normally would; like going on through the story or gaining levels/spells.... basically, "Set it and Forget it!"

YUP, the solitary Island. It took me just 4 minutes using the frame skip, yeah yeah I know I'm a cheater, but what the hell I had already played the game!

On the other hand you can just get the Raganarok esper instead of the sword ana gain Ultima that way! Paladin Shield is preety good, but if you want it to get Ultima and have the Raganarok sword at the same time well that's up to you, I for instance will not do this again, I'll pass on the Ragnarok sword!

I taught my party meteor before upgrading the the ultima teaching esper (can't remember names).

I've been playing for a really long time just with it on Locke. He was also wearing it while training in the dinosaur forest. When I first got the sheild I started making tallies on a notepad to keep track, but I stoped, and now I have no clue how many battles he's done, but I don't get how it's been under 250.

Are there any conditions? Are you allowed to die? equip it to another character? do they have to be consecutive battles?
