Other than using a card that nullifies the "Dmg2: Animal" law, is there anything I can do to hurt monsters while that law is intact? Nubswood is under attack by monsters, and that law is causing me to be unable to damage them in any way.

I have gotten around it once, and I guess by using "Poison" and "Sleep" in a Doublecast.

You can always go with the "instant kill" method, like Last Breath or Death. I guess it's not considered damage to them.

You can also walk around the map until the law goes away. Sucks for you if you havent saved in awhile though. Every day theres a new law, and the one at the top of the list goes away with each day.

Damage to Animals is the cheapest and most unfair law in existance. At first I thought the laws were kinda innovative, putting a cap on my god-like abilities. But then I realized I missed my overbearing powers. Now the laws are just a nuisance. That's why I trade in all of my other law cards and get just generic R# Cards that can nullify any law of that type. I do keep a couple of Dmg2Animals around though...

Isn't it possible to just use Poison? I know it'd be annoying to have to avoid them every turn, even though they're taking poison damage, but I was just wondering theoretically.

Edit
While I was about to say "Time to go after the judge for this!", I suddenly realized that I'd be fighting the judge AND the monsters, since such a law would benefit them so they'd probably defend it.

Yeah, that law isn't very cool. If you use indirect methods like poison or confusion, you might be able to circumvent potential jail time. Might take awhile, but if you don't want to reset, that might be the way you have to go.

Wait until you hit endgame status, and you have the best Paladin skills only to find you cant use tehm.

IMO the most annoying law in the game is how some people have that medal that doesn't send them to jail.

I just gather the generic Level# cards as well. I keep a color magic and a fight anti/law around also just in case. But because Im a Pack Rat at items...

I usually just do the same. Walk around for a little while and wait for the law to pass.

I'm not positive but if you have on one of the counter attack abilities, such as bonecrusher, counter or strikeback, you'll hit them back (after they hit you) and not get in trouble with the law.

Does this law appear when

the two-laws-a-day phase starts, or when the three-laws-a-day phase starts? Wait...is there a three-laws-a-day phase? I've only gotten as far as two.

It pops up during the two law a day part. And yes, it eventually is bumped up to three laws a day.

Keep it Mad, keep it Glad, keep it Gay.

I'm not real sure how I got Poison to work without getting a Penalty, as I did try that another time only to receive a Penalty.

You could also use Cid, but that kinda takes a while.

You could use control to make the monsters damage each other. Even if you can't make them finish each other, the ones who attack get sent to jail.
