I saw a reply "The Ancient" made to another post and i had a question or two to ask about it!!!!

"Blue Magic is in the game. The most powerful versions of basic spells can all be learned via Blue Magic. That is if you cast Fire 4 on someone who's current class is a Black Wizard, they have a chance of learning it. Ramza's Squire class can learn Ultima by means of Blue Magic, in fact this is where most people are introduced to it." -The Ancient

I already made another post, that spoke a little bit about learning spells from other chars, but ive noticed that Ramza cant master squire in this particular save of mine, and there is a hidden ability under Scream if you bring up the skill menu with the O button instead of through learn, just like the one in summoner before you get Zodiac.

I figure this is the "Ultima" spell you were talking about! but ive never got it before, i dont have a strat guide or anything. can someone tell me how when and where to get it?

(all my chars have mastered every job at job level 8, except ramza cant master squire because of this!!!! mad.gif )

Make sure he is a Squire in the battles at Limberry Castle and, again, inside of St. Murond Temple against Zalbag in case you didn't learn it from Celia or Lede. I always learn it at Murond Temple against Zalbag and the Archaic and Ultima Demons 'cuz I'm intent on stealing Elmdor's equipment and killing off Celia and Lede (as Assassins) I don't worry too much on learning Ultima at that point, so I tend to wait a little bit. You could try stalling as much as possible if you want it early by making Celia and Lede near death Ultima Demons and waiting until they cast Ultima on Ramza.

I always try to learn it "Outside the Gates to Limberry" against the Apandas and Assassins. Make sure you take as many female characters in as possible (that way they can be equipped with Ribbons--which can be gotten by poaching Wild Boars). When the Assassins can't inflict status effects on your female characters they will opt to cast Ultima, at which point, you move in and get hit.

If I recall correctly, I put don't move on the assasins and stayed out of range of their status attacks, but in range of Ultima. They cast it right away when that happens.

A good way to check this is:

use the circle button to open up a list of skills for the char instead of in the learn menu, everytime, at least in my games, for Ultima and Zodiac anyway, there has been a Blank line, just dots were a skill would go at the end of the list.
(this means they can learn something "hidden")

I have played through the game about twenty times, each time keeping Cloud in the party, and I have never been able to learn Ultima with him. smile.gif

Let's make it simple,
Ramza & Alma can learn Ultima (1)
Ultima Demons & the assassins (Celia & Lede) can cast
Ultima (1) by default
St. Ajora can cast All-Ultima and Ultima (2), which you cannot learn in any way

Too bad we can only learn the crappy version of ultima which will cause about 200 damage with high MA and moderate Faith.

Really, at the least this spell should look like Heaven & Hell skills; damage formula having an exponential growth via MA, and maybe Non-Charge spell.

Cloud should have non-charge in his ability list, it would make him much more useful, with less powerful limits.
