Pretty sure that's what the weapon was called, anyhow.

On my second playthrough of the semi-good FFX, I managed to come across a sword for Tidus called the "Lifesaver". It had alchemy plus three slots.

Now that's not the best part. I got this around Macalania Temple, it seems. It was an awesome weapon and I ended up using it throughout the entire game.

Now every other time I've tried to find this sword again (on different playthroughs, obviously), I haven't been able to find it. Anyone have some info on this excellent weapon?

Gamefaqs informs me that by remodelling an empty sword with 4 Healing Waters you will gain the Alchemy ability and hence the "Lifesaver" sword

That's great and all, but I didn't do that. I simply found the sword as is.

Thanks for the info, though. I might try to recreate the thing if I can't seem to find it.

Have you been checking with O'aka all through the game? Right before the snowmobilers arrive at the Macalania Agency, O'aka shows up if you run back and you can buy from him. It might not be right then, of course, but it's easily missable.

Oh.

I hadn't thought of that. Kinda makes sense too. Thanks a lot, I'll have to take a look at that.

Oh and gamefaqs hasn't really helped me on the subject.

It's quite possible it's a rare item you obtained during a battle, and therefore you'd be lucky to get it again.
