Hey i know ive made alot of topics but this one is cool
Ive been racing my chocobos and i was doing my 2nd C rank race with my wonderful female chocobo called WONDA and all of a sudden after i say "long" or "short" course cid jumps out and says "Hey cloud let me pop (or hop i cant remember which 1 it was) on sometime" and then your'e given the option "sure" or "nope" if u pick sure cid will be riding the chocobo i dont know if this adds any bonuses to your actual chocobo racing but its pretty cool -------------------- What I have shown you is reality. It also gives you the option to ride the chocobo for tifa too.I'm not sure bout anyone else though.

I don't think anyone else can ride the chocobos because I have been trying to see how high I can get my gold chocobos' speed up to. And no you don't get any bonuses, but if you beat S rank six times you get something. Teioh is kinda hard to beat but it's not impossible if you get your gold chocobos' speed up to 150.

I think it happens because Tifa and Cid are the other two people who lead your party. Although as I recall, you can't race chocobos at that point? Either way, maybe the developers planned it just in case, and decided to have a little fun every so often in the chocobo races.

I guess it just adds a slight bit of variety to the races, I find over time they get a tad tedious really.

Since Tifa and Cid are temporary leaders they have "riding" sprites, and square felt these sprites shouldn't go to waste, so occasionally you get the option to use Cid or Tifa, for some reason on my game Cid asks more often and it seems that after I say yes to him he'll ask more often. But that's not a bad thing I like Cid better than Cloud anyways.

I didn't even know Tifa asked to race Chocobos. It was always Cid on mine... and he asked almost constantly. Of course, since he's one of my favourite FFVII characters, I always let him.

if you think about it cid and tifa are the only other people who are vaguely suited to riding a chocobo besides cloud -
barret - would absolutely maul a chocobo if he tried to get on. vincent - vincent....on a chocobo....i think not. cait sith - hahahahaha Nanaki - pffffAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!! yuffie - would try to steal it aeris - the flower girl? nah nah, you cant have a flower girl on a chocobo, it just doesnt work. yeah.... |

LOL, yeah, can't have Cloud and Co. compensating for all the chocobos that Barret's going to squash, Yuffie, she would probably try to sell all their chocobos at black market prices, or trade them in for materia.
but yeah, i got both Cid and Tifa asking to ride my chocobos at the races and i had a lot of fun with that, it's so cool seeing them on a chocobo, heh. One way to get them both to ask is to have them in your party at different times with 1 other character, but duh, you probably know that already. And it does add a nice touch when the races get a little too monotonous.  |

It wasquite odd, but I only ever seemed to beet teioh with a great/green/blue chocobo when Tifa was riding it, Cloud just ... didn't until I bred a Black chocobo(halleluja for the stamina cheat).

Chocobos can run over 100 km/h with a person on their back in the races ... and wild chocobos can apparently carry all three of your party members at once on the World Map.
Barret can clearly ride a chocobo then  |

Tifa can ride the chocobo? I never knew that.Can Cid snowboard too then? I think that's so weird that I never got Tifa on the chocobo as many times as I rode it.

if you have cid and tifa on your party one of them will give you a choice
if you want them to race, i never got cid on my party but tifa is on and she always ask! (i always decline her XD) |

Okay, so I knew that Cid and Tifa will ask to ride chocobos, but only Tifa asked to ride the snowboard (maybe i didn't ever have cid with me?), but is it true that he will ask to ride snowboard too?
And I'm not sure why, buy cid asks me to ride chocobos like once every 20 races, and Tifa asks me once every three. As I recall, someone mentioned that they are the only other team members who get to lead and therefore had to have sprites for Chocobo riding and so the creators decided "hey, we have the sprites, let's throw this is in to switch it up"

I've noticed, maybe just on my game, but who knows, that when I choose to let Cid race (which I -always- do when given the opportunity
) that Teioh is never in the group of other racers. |

i used to always let them ride but i stopped since Cloud had higher luck stats so i could win that enemy away materia
