Biography

Is this a man? A woman? Should we ask? The mysterious Gogo lives underground on Triangle Island in the far northeast of the world map. To meet Gogo in the game's second half, allow the party to be swallowed by one of the Zone Eaters residing on the island, then find Gogo at the end of the short dungeon in which you end up.

Over the years, there has been an incredible amount of fan speculation as to Gogo's true identity. Is Gogo Setzer's long lost love ? Is Gogo Shadow's ex-partner Baram? Is Gogo an amnesiac Emperor Gestahl? Your guess is as good as anyone's. One thing is certain - Gogo is a mysterious second incarnation of the mimic of the same name from Final Fantasy V.

Gameplay

Gogo is average or below-average in every statistic and is unable to equip Espers, preventing stats other than HP and MP from ever increasing. He/she can also only equip light armor, daggers, and rods. All of that is a shame, because Gogo possesses the amazing ability to use nearly any skill in the game. Tools, Blitz, and Steal on one character? Done. Lore, Runic, and Rage all at the same time? Why not? Fight, Magic, and Item for those who want to live dangerously? Sure. Gogo's first command slot will always hold the Mimic command, which allows Gogo to perform the party's most recent action without using MP or charge time, but the other three can be changed at will from the Status screen. The only things Gogo can't do are use Terra's Trance command or natively summon Espers.

Special Skill: Mimic

The Mimic skill allows Gogo to repeat the attack of the character that acted before it. Mimic doesn't waste resources; if Shadow throws something, that one something will be removed from your inventory; if Gogo Mimics Shadow throwing one, it will not reduce the inventory. The same goes with Items; the only exception is Gil Toss, which will cost the party Gil, even when Gogo Mimics the action.

Gogo will pick the same target as well where possible. If the previous target is unavailable (dead), Gogo will either pick a random target ('normal' spells) or - if the attack lacks the 'retarget if target is dead' bit - will try to attack the dead target anyway.

Gogo also has a customizable command set. You can assign all of these to various slots: Attack, Magic, Item, Steal, Bushido, Throw (if Shadow is available), Tools, Blitz, Runic, Lore, Sketch, Slot, Dance, Rage. Additionally, command modifiers are available with Relics, just as they would be to other characters. With regards to Magic, Gogo can always use every spell that everyone else in the battle party can use. Gogo can not learn any spells from Espers or from Lore.
