12. Footsteps! Follow!

Enemies: Gold Eaglet, Kilwala, Winged Ape, Runner, Evilweevil, Megasaur, Reptite, Shitake, Fly Trap
Treasures: Mid Tonic x3, Revive x2, Mid Ether x2, Shelter, Heal, HelmetRock Helm, FullEther, FullTonic, ArmorRuby Vest

With Ayla in your party, you can now trade at the Ioka Hut to the northeast. By trading three each of two different items, you can get new and better equipment.

You can use one each of the weapons and four ArmorRuby Vests and HelmetRock Helms, so you'll need in total 9 Petals, 18 Horns, 18 Fangs, and 27 Feathers. You can get these in good quantities at the Hunting Range to the north.

After you are sufficiently equipped, your next destination is the Forest Maze to the south.

Ayla will confront Kino upon entry, who you may remember from the jungle party. He says that he took the party's things out of jealousy, but the Reptites stole them from him and went into the Forest Maze. The Forest Maze really is a maze, and the only way to get through is to follow the footprints. They lead towards the southwest, with lots of treasures along the way.

Upon entry there will be a large room with a lot of Evilweevils in it. The only way out is through the hole, and taking the original hole will lead to a few attacks and to your next destination. However, waiting for an Evilweevil to dig through the floor and create a hole to the RIGHT of the original hole will open up a new path with treasures and a different set of enemies.

Regardless, you'll end up in a room crawling with Reptites. Approaching either stationary Reptite is unnecessary and calls forth a Megasaur, so grab the chests from the side or behind, then exit to the right. You can avoid the battle further south of where you enter, but the next two are unavoidable. The exit left will let you return to the initial room with all of the Evilweevils, and after saving your game, move on to encounter Azala. She will ask what the Gate Key is, and regardless of what you tell her, she'll call forth your next boss.

Strategy
Nizbel, like the Megasaur, is weak to Lightning. Shock it and you'll be able to deal damage to it due to its lower defense. The dual techs Flame Kick and Volt Bite are extremely effective, dealing around 800 damage a pop to Nizbel. Nizbel's only major attack is when he deals 150 damage to everyone by releasing the stored electric energy - this means that you need to heal using Mid Tonics or Kiss as well as use OLightning again to lower his defense. Repeat until he dies.

Afterwards, Azala will return the Gate Key to the party and you'll be automatically sent back to Ayla's hut. Now that you have the Dreamstone and the Gate Key, you can use the Mystic Mountain gate to return to the End of Time.
